Sega Delays Sonic Rumble for Upcoming Update

Despite an exciting pre-launch crossover event featuring classics like Super Monkey Ball and Altered Beast, Sonic Rumble won't be hitting the global stage just yet. The eagerly anticipated multiplayer battle royale game, which had amassed over 1.4 million pre-registrations, has been delayed as Sega focuses on perfecting the upcoming version 1.2 update.

The delay allows Sega to introduce a slew of new content in update 1.2, designed to enhance the toybox world created by Dr. Eggman. Key features include Rumble Rankings, Crews, and a new Skills system. Rumble Rankings will introduce seasonal leaderboards where players can vie for rewards, while Crews will enable you and your friends to tackle score missions together. The Skills system will add strategic depth by equipping characters with unique powers.

Rather than a rushed rollout, Sega has chosen to take additional time to ensure these features are fully polished before the game's launch. In the meantime, a Q&A session is scheduled for May 2nd on Discord, offering fans a chance to learn about upcoming developments and ask their questions directly.
