This untitled project, developed by Bit Reactor—a studio formed by veterans from Firaxis Games known for their work on the XCOM franchise—has been in the works since its announcement in early 2022. Bit Reactor has collaborated closely with Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this new strategy game to life. Mark your calendars for April 19, when the lead development team from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games will take the stage for a live panel to showcase the game for the first time.

Previously, Respawn was working on another Star Wars game—a first-person shooter rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist—but it was canceled amidst a significant restructuring at EA, resulting in approximately 670 job losses. Additionally, a multiplayer first-person shooter project was quietly canceled earlier in March, with an unknown number of staff affected.

At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm will also provide sneak peeks at other exciting projects, including the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, set to hit theaters in May 2026, and the first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
