The Genshin Impact Version 5.2 Exercise Surging Storm event, part of phase two, is a tactical RPG-style challenge offering substantial rewards including Primogems. While initially appearing complex, its mechanics are surprisingly straightforward. Here's a guide to participation and rewards.

Event Entry Requirements:

To participate in Exercise Surging Storm, you need:

• Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
• Completion of the Mondstadt Archon Quest Prologue.

Begin the event at the Knights of Favonius Headquarters in Mondstadt.

Gameplay Overview:

The event includes tutorials. Here's a summary:

Before each wargame, select Combat Units (troops) and Stratagems (buffs). Units have various types (AoE Damage, Flying, Ranged, Melee) with type-based counters (e.g., Melee counters Ranged).

Analyze your opponent's lineup and adjust yours using the bottom-right diagram; however, adjustments cost Reinforcement Points.

Unit types:

• Melee: High damage absorption, slow speed.
• Ranged: Long-range attacks, low health.
• AoE DMG: Damages groups of units.
• Flying: Evades ground attacks, immune to specific damage types.

Level up units by re-selecting them; refresh units and stratagems for better options. Elemental Reactions function as in the overworld. Winning earns more Wargame Medals than losing, but even losses contribute to reward accumulation.

Rewards:

Wargame Medals can be redeemed for Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Character Talent Materials, and Mora. Challenge rewards are also available for specific in-game achievements.
