Terra Nil's latest update, Heatwave, introduces some of the game's most challenging and visually striking environments yet. Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Clockwork Acorn and Free Lives, this free update is now available on mobile and Steam.
Heatwave enriches Terra Nil's diverse biomes with a brand-new arid region. It also brings fresh and demanding restoration scenarios, dynamic wildlife interactions, and innovative eco-tech tools.
You'll now work to revitalize three new maps, each presenting unique environmental challenges. The first, Parched Oasis, draws inspiration from the real-world Okavango Delta. Your task is to burn invasive vegetation to restore river flow, then transform the landscape into savannah and alluvial zones. Elephants play a crucial role in sustaining this ecosystem, mirroring their function in the natural world.
Next, Canyon Peaks, inspired by the Grand Canyon, divides the map with a massive gorge. On one side, you must contain oil fires that can deplete resources if ignored. On the other, you'll cleanse a radioactive city.
The third map, Fracked Floodplain, tasks you with cleaning up extensive industrial oil spills before bringing the desert's watering holes back to life. You will then build a biofuel-powered rocket to connect with your orbiting spacecraft.

Thirteen new species have been added, including crocodiles, elephants, hyenas, and vultures. These animals now appear more naturally in the environment and remain for longer durations. A new photography mode also lets you capture these creatures in their restored habitats.
Two significant eco-tech additions are making their debut: a remotely operated land recycling bot and the Xerophytium, a structure that helps regenerate cactus biomes. These tools expand your options for breathing life back into barren landscapes.
Terra Nil now includes all five major climate zones. Find the game on the Google Play Store.
