Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts an impressive array of weapons, tailored to suit every player's unique playstyle. Among these, you'll find exceptional named variants with enhanced modifications or superior power, and the Cavalier sniper rifle stands out as one such gem. This special weapon features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it ideal for short to medium-range engagements. Let's delve into how you can acquire this distinctive firearm.
To obtain the Cavalier Sniper Rifle, head to the Military Unit within the Duga base in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The rifle is located inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously visited the Duga base to access the Journalist stash, you'll find re-entering through the second entrance quite straightforward.
Upon entering the Duga base, navigate towards the Military Unit building as indicated on your map. Instead of entering the building, proceed around it to reach the greenhouse at the rear. Be vigilant, as two Pseudogiants patrol the area and will attack if they spot you. Approach the greenhouse cautiously to avoid these dangerous mutants.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll find yourself in the warehouse. Be prepared for immediate threats as multiple swarms of rats will emerge and begin to drain your health. To escape the rats, climb onto the elevated green platforms at the back of the warehouse. A well-placed grenade can swiftly deal with the rat swarm, ensuring your safety.
After eliminating the rat swarms, direct your attention to the ceiling above the entry connecting the greenhouse to the warehouse. Look for wooden boards painted yellow. Use your weapon to shoot these boards, causing the Cavalier sniper rifle to drop down.
Secure the weapon and make a safe exit from the Duga base. To further enhance the Cavalier, visit Screw, the technician at Rostok base. With its high damage and excellent accuracy, the Cavalier can be upgraded and modified to perform even better. For players who prefer not to use a traditional scope, the Cavalier's red-dot sight makes it an excellent choice for close to medium-range combat.
