Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled

Marvel Rivals Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," launches January 10th at 1 AM PST, bringing a three-month season of thrilling new content. Key highlights include the addition of Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist), ten new battle pass skins, a fresh game mode, and three new maps.

NetEase Games' latest developer blog reveals a packed Season 1. The Fantastic Four's arrival marks the start, with The Thing and Human Torch expected six to seven weeks later. The Baxter Building will also feature prominently in a new map.

This season introduces "Doom Match," an 8-12 player arcade-style mode on the new Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum map. The top 50% of players emerge victorious. The battle pass, costing 990 Lattice, offers ten new skins and a reward of 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.

Three new maps expand the game world:

• Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum (Doom Match)
• Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown (Convoy Missions)
• Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park (Details to be revealed later in Season 1)

The developers highlighted their commitment to player feedback, acknowledging concerns about character balance (e.g., Hawkeye's ranged advantage) and promising adjustments in the first half of the season. Central Park, along with further balance updates, will arrive six to seven weeks into Season 1. While rumors of a PvE mode circulated, the developers did not address them in this update. The anticipation for Season 1 is high among fans.
