The price point of $39.99 might pleasantly surprise you—it's more affordable than anticipated. However, note that the physical copy comes as a "game-key card" rather than a traditional disc, which affects how you access the game.
Some games for the Nintendo Switch 2 utilize game-key cards, which resemble Switch 2 cartridges but do not contain the actual game data. Instead, you'll need to insert the card into your console and download the 11GB game from the eShop. Despite this, you can still lend the physical card to friends or sell it, but playing the game requires inserting the game-key card into your Switch 2.
Originally released on the 3DS, *Bravely Default* harkens back to classic RPGs with its turn-based combat and a narrative centered around a group of heroes on a quest to retrieve four crystals. The game's unique combat system allows players to save turns for executing multiple actions simultaneously, complemented by an in-depth job system for customizing party member abilities.
The HD remaster retains all these beloved features while introducing new enhancements. Players can now fast-forward through both battles and cut scenes, adjust encounter rates to their preference, and enjoy new online modes and minigames.
