Concept art from a scrapped Batman Arkham Knight sequel starring Damian Wayne as the Caped Crusader has leaked online, offering our clearest glimpse at an older Bruce Wayne.
Dubbed Project Sabbath, this canceled title was in development at Warner Bros. Games Montreal (the studio behind Batman Arkham Origins) following Arkham Knight's 2015 release. The ambitious project would have featured both Bruce and Damian Wayne sharing the Batman mantle.
Warner Bros. ultimately shelved the project, redirecting the studio's efforts toward 2022's Gotham Knights - a controversial decision that baffled fans by excluding Batman entirely.
Sabbath was initially positioned as Warner Bros.' next major Batman installment while Rocksteady explored other DC characters. Ironically, Rocksteady would later return to Batman (albeit controversially) with the troubled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Recently surfaced Artstation posts from a former WB Games Montreal artist showcase striking character designs: a fresh-faced Damian Wayne, a battle-worn Bruce with a full beard, plus reimagined versions of Killer Croc and Huntress.
The game's relationship to Arkhamverse canon remains unclear. The radically different Killer Croc design suggests potential continuity differences, though similar cosmetic changes appeared in canon entries like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

This marks the second major leak of Project Sabbath materials. In 2021, another former developer shared images of Damian's sleek batsuit featuring a prominent red bat emblem - though Bruce's unmasked appearance remained concealed beneath his cowl.
"Project Sabbath", a canceled Damian Wayne Batman game at WB Games Montreal, apparently has another wave of concept art revealed - this time by concept artist Goran Bukvic. The images match how the game was first described years ago.

After Gotham Knights' lukewarm reception and supporting Rocksteady's Suicide Squad, WB Games Montreal faced significant layoffs in December 2024. Despite Suicide Squad's commercial struggles, reports indicate Rocksteady has returned to single-player Batman development.
Could this finally be the long-awaited father-son Batman adventure fans deserve? Only time will tell.
