Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

This guide details the competitive rank reset system in Marvel Rivals, a free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, ending a season at Diamond I will place you at Gold II in the next season. Players ending at Bronze III, the lowest rank, will remain there.

Season Reset Timing

The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. While Season 0 had a shorter duration, subsequent seasons are expected to span approximately three months.

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through the ranks is based on accumulating points; every 100 points earned advances you to the next tier. The tiers are:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, you can continue playing to earn points and progress to Eternity and One Above All. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Length

While the initial season was shorter, future seasons are anticipated to last approximately three months. New seasons will introduce fresh content, including new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps. The extended season length provides more time to climb the competitive ladder.
