If you’re a fan of Monster Hunter Wilds, you’re in for some exciting updates! Yuya Tokuda, the game’s director, has teased what’s coming in the Ver. 1.011 update scheduled for May 28. This patch is packed with new features, including a highly anticipated collaboration with Street Fighter 6.
Tokuda emphasized that the team aims to deliver more engaging content while fine-tuning the gameplay experience. Among the highlights is the introduction of Akuma from Street Fighter, who brings along an entire Arkuma armor set and layered armor. Equip either set, and you’ll gain access to three special items: Assisted Combo Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken. For more details, head to the official Monster Hunter website.
The update also introduces eight-star monsters, offering players a tougher challenge. Monsters like Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad will become available to hunt at HR 41 and above. These versions are beefed up with enhanced health, wound resistance, and multiplayer scaling tweaks. Tokuda warns that Tempered Gore Magala will push even seasoned hunters to their limits. Expect more high-difficulty quests and multi-monster hunts as your HR grows.
Balancing is also on the agenda, with several weapons receiving adjustments. While some parameters have been dialed down, others have seen boosts, expanding the potential of each weapon type. The Hammer and Dual Blades, in particular, are getting notable improvements. Other quality-of-life tweaks include resting spots in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord, which restore all destroyed Pop-up Camps. Players will no longer receive confirmation windows when their item pouch is full, and meal effect timers now display 10 minutes before expiration. Notifications have been streamlined, ensuring only essential alerts block the map interface.
Captured endemic life can now be viewed individually, complete with their names, sizes, and weights. Favorite creatures can be saved even if you exceed storage capacity. Stability improvements are expected, especially on Steam, and rewards for eight-star investigations and field surveys have been enhanced. Fishing Guild Points have also been rebalanced.
In related news, Monster Hunter Wilds received an 8 in our review, praised for its refined gameplay but noted for a lack of significant challenges. Interestingly, players have discovered an unconventional way to perform dodge attacks using emotes. Stay tuned for the May 28 update—you won’t want to miss what’s in store!
