Puella Madoka Magica Magia Exedra (we'll just call it Exedra from now on) is adding a new character, Ren Isuzu, to its roster, following a hugely successful pre-registration campaign that surpassed half a million sign-ups.

Exedra is a fully 3D, turn-based RPG based on the popular anime series. The game brings back the beloved magical girl, Ren Isuzu, a shy yet powerful character whose bonds with others fuel her strength. This addition is a pleasant surprise for fans, as the pre-registration rewards only included fan kits (wallpapers, etc.) for existing characters.

The Magical Girl Life: Not So Easy

It's somewhat ironic that Puella Madoka Magica, known for its intelligent and often subversive take on the magical girl trope, has become synonymous with its extensive merchandising. However, this is hardly unexpected given its immense domestic and international popularity.

Exedra's shift to a full 3D environment from the 2D battle systems seen in previous adaptations is noteworthy. The game boasts visually stunning, effects-heavy battle sequences that will undoubtedly delight fans of the original anime's animation style.
