S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to receive a series of exciting updates in Q2 2025, as revealed by developer GSC Gameworld. This roadmap promises enhancements in modding, the A-Life system, and more, ensuring a richer gameplay experience. Dive into the details to see what's on the horizon for this highly anticipated game.
GSC Gameworld has committed to delivering updates every three months, with the latest roadmap for Q2 2025 shared via STALKER's official Twitter (X) account on April 14. The roadmap will be broken down into quarterly segments, accompanied by patch notes that will confirm the implementation of these planned updates into the game.
Following the successful Q1 updates that addressed major issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, the developers are poised to further enhance the game based on player feedback. Here's what fans can look forward to in the upcoming updates:
The developers have detailed two major updates: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. The closed beta for the ModKit will allow mod makers to test and refine the tool before its public release, with integration into Mod.io and Steam Workshop.
The A-Life system, which saw significant updates with a 110 GB patch during last year's Christmas update, will continue to evolve. New "persistent A-Life improvements" and "smarter human combat" features, such as better use of cover and flanking, and limited grenade usage, are set to be introduced.
Mutants in the game will now exhibit more realistic behaviors, such as eating corpses and reacting to threats. Other updates include the introduction of mutant loot, the option to skip shader compilation, an increase in the player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, two new weapons, and continued efforts in stabilization and optimization.
Additionally, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update, with more details to be released as the update approaches.
