Disney has revealed exciting updates alongside a confirmed reopening date of July 22, 2025, for EPCOT's Test Track presented by General Motors at Walt Disney World Resort.
According to Disney Parks Blog, this refreshed attraction features a brand-new musical score and innovative scenes demonstrating "how technology enhances vehicle intelligence and driving enjoyment."
One standout addition illustrates "how modern vehicles utilize advanced cameras and sensors to perceive their surroundings," showcasing autonomous driving capabilities and LiDAR safety technology.
Unlike previous versions set in conceptual environments, Disney emphasizes this iteration grounds itself in real-world driving experiences. A key highlight includes sections designed to emulate scenic drives through the Pacific Northwest.
"Our reimagined Test Track celebrates the joy of driving and creating cherished memories with loved ones," explained Walt Disney Imagineering's Nathaniel Gearhart. "It's about those special journeys that become unforgettable."
The design team meticulously incorporated four authentic tree species - Cedar, Spruce, Maple, and Oak - accompanied by dense canopy foliage to immerse guests in this realistic environment.
The attraction's evolution spans three major versions: Test Track 1.0 debuted in 1999, 2.0 launched in 2012, and this latest 3.0 update arrives after closing for renovations on June 17, 2024.
This enhancement joins numerous summer offerings at Walt Disney World, featured among our 14 reasons this season is ideal for visiting during Cool Kid Summer.
