This is a quiz app centered on the classic Japanese poem "Iroha Uta".
"Iroha Karuta" is a card game based on the "Iroha Uta", a well-known poem that uses each of the 47 traditional hiragana characters exactly once, starting with "" and followed by an additional 48th character "Kyo". The poem's opening lines translate as "Although its scent still lingers on, the form of a flower has scattered away...". This karuta uses proverbs where the first character of each phrase corresponds to one of these poem's characters. It originated in Kyoto during the mid-Edo period and later spread to Osaka, Nagoya, and Edo. This quiz app specifically uses the Tokyo-style phrases.
