Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is set to roll out a plethora of thrilling updates and new content in April, highlighted by the introduction of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, the game is set to welcome another intriguing character, Lumatrix, offering players a diverse range of new gameplay experiences.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, whose real name is Jessica Drew, faced a challenging childhood after being exposed to uranium near her home. In a desperate attempt to save her, her father, a renowned geneticist, conducted an experimental treatment by injecting her with a combination of spider DNA. After a prolonged recovery period, Jessica not only overcame the negative effects of the experiment but also emerged with remarkable spider-like abilities, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. This new champion will be available in MCOC starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, players can look forward to the arrival of Lumatrix on April 9th. As one of the most lethal assassins ever created by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for stealthy infiltration and elimination, utilizing his unique and dazzling light-based powers.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled Inquisition, introduces significant plot developments. Carina suffers severe injuries after an encounter with Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom forms an alliance with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption caused by Chronoserpent. Additionally, a new villain, Lotan, enters the fray, adding further complexity to the storyline.

April also brings the new Event Quest, Spy Games, which runs from April 9th to May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow delves into the enigma of the Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.

The iconic Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest titled Dark Bounties, where she places bounties on various Champions, challenging players to hunt them down and claim their rewards.

For those looking to test their strength, the Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback. Players can assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle through and earn valuable rewards such as Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
