Originally launched in 2001, Devil May Cry was initially conceived as Resident Evil 4. However, the game evolved significantly from its initial concept, leading Capcom to develop it into the action-packed Devil May Cry series. This deeply personal connection to the game's origin adds a unique layer to its legacy.

Kamiya admits that he rarely revisits his games post-release, and Devil May Cry is no different. Yet, when he occasionally encounters gameplay clips, he reflects on the game's age, noting its "old-timey game design." If given the chance to remake it, Kamiya envisions starting from scratch, leveraging modern technology and contemporary game design principles to breathe new life into the title.

While the idea of a Devil May Cry remake is not at the forefront of his mind currently, Kamiya is open to the possibility. He only develops ideas when projects are in motion, stating, "But if the time comes— I’ll come up with something. That’s what I do." In addition to Devil May Cry, Kamiya also expressed interest in remaking Viewtiful Joe. These insights have sparked excitement among fans, who eagerly anticipate the potential return of these beloved games in a refreshed format.
